Pretty Swanky Powder Bath

Today’s Sneak Peek Saturday comes from a project we recently installed for one of our Dallas clients.  We love to have fun & think outside the box when designing a powder bath.   Powder baths should not be overlooked.  Your guests will inevitably use this space, so why not make it special?  Whether it’s intricate tile designs, wainscoting or a showstopping vanity cabinet like this one, the possibilities are endless!

The vanity counter top & “X” design on the front are actually made from compressed gemstones.  It is simply stunning in person.  We used an elegant glass bowl for the sink in order to not detract from the beauty of the vanity cabinet.

The real pièce de résistance is that the gemstone design illuminates with the flip of a light switch.  Can you say a-ma-zing!!!!????  We fell in love with it the minute we saw it!  A huge thank you to Landon Smith from Elegant Additions for helping us with this custom vanity as well as many of the other fabulous pieces pf eye candy throughout the house.

Having been in business for over 30 years now, IBB has designed quite a diverse range of projects for our clients.  Today’s Sneak Peek Saturday is a look inside of a private jet we designed for a client.  From the fabrics & the finishes to the custom seating for 12 passengers, we had a blast creating this space designed for style in the sky.  Take a peek…

Sneak Peek Saturday: Designer Nursery

Today’s Sneak Peek Saturday is from IBB designer Shannon Gidney.  Shannon is just weeks away from delivering her first child, a baby girl.  We are all so excited & can’t wait until baby Morgan arrives!  This sweet nursery is layered in creams, chocolate brown & turquoise.  A few antique touches, like a rocker Shannon found, help give the room a vintage feeling.  The drapery fabric is from Kravet.  It’s also used on the top of the ottoman & again in the crib bedding.  There are lots of more fun details to share with you like an amazing hand crafted dresser & fun little touches Shannon created to let her sweet little angel always know how much she is adored.  Congratulations John & Shannon!

Stay tuned for more nursery details & updates on Morgan’s arrival.  You can contact Shannon here.  shannon@ibbdesign.com or 214-618-6630

Sneak Peek Saturday: MINT Dentistry

Today’s sneak peek is from my client Dr. Harrison’s new dental practice, MINT Dentistry.  His main priority was to create a hip relaxing environment that didn’t feel cold and sterile like most dentist & doctor’s offices.  We decided to play off of his logo & practice name MINT and use green as part of our color palette.  We used furnishings with straight lines and sleek details.  The coffee table with cool chrome legs is by Vanguard.  The sofa, also by Vanguard is covered in a rich chocolate brown velvet with a green pinstripe.  The office is now open & they’re off to a great start.  We’re wrapping up a few loose ends including a textured wall in the lobby that looks like cork.    It’s absolutely amazing!  Enjoy this sneak peek & stay tuned for more details.  Or, better yet, go visit Dr. Harrison yourself & tell him I sent you!

Sneak Peek Saturday: Ottomans

Look what just came in to IBB for one of my clients!  I’m a huge fan of adding small benches & ottomans to a room.  They give you additional seating & can also be a fun way to add some style through great fabrics.  Today’s sneak peek is from a project I am working on in California.  The home belongs to a young hip single man who requested the home be done in layers of neutrals.  We’re primarily using taupes, blacks, shades of white & gray.

The X bench by Century.  I’m using two of these on either side of a fireplace in the formal living room with some very cool art above each one.  The chrome base will add a sleek look  to the room.  The cushions are made out of a rich velvet stripe by Barclay Butera for Kravet.  I am a HUGE fan of Barclay’s fabrics!  I’m using several of them for this project.

This is one of my all time  favorite ottomans.  It’s by Hickory Chair.  I’m using two of these at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom.  The cushions are out of a soft supple gray velvet.  The bottom fabric is out of a small herringbone print in gray & white.  I added chrome nail heads to highlight the beautiful shape of the ottomans.

I’ll be installing the home in a few months, so stay tuned to see a few of the finished shots of the home!

Sneak Peek Saturday: Bathtime Fun!

Today’s Sneak Peek Saturday is from a super fun project I’m working on right now.  We’re converting this vintage claw foot bathtub into a fun reading area for the family’s kiddos.  The adjoining bedroom is being set up as an uber-cool playroom.   Since the bathtub will never be used for its genuine purpose, we felt conflicted to let something so fun just lie there useless.  So, I had an artist paint the exterior of the tub in a British flag motif & we’re making a huge comfy cushion to line the interior of the bathtub.  Finally, we’ll add lots of plush pillows to ensure lots of comfort for hours of lounging & reading in a totally cool space.  I can’t wait to show you the finished product!
