I make sure to tape GMT every Friday so I can watch your segment when I get home from work. I have stopped my DVR more than once to take a pic of some furniture design to send to my sister in Chicago. Love it. Still trying to get use to hearing your new last name :)

Hi Shay

I love your segment on GMT! I wish I could afford to have you come to my house and give me some updating suggesions. My house was built in 1982, typical 82 floor plan, galley kitchen, huge formal living area. I updated the kitchen with granite and 18" ceramic tile floors, but still need to decide what to do about the dated cabinets. There is also a 10' built in cabinet in the large formal living area. 2 & 1/2 baths, every cabinet in the entire house is the same. The living area and hallway to the bedrooms have wood floors, the family room & formal dining have wood/laminate floors the same color as the lv area wood. I need to replace the flooring in all 3 bedrooms, should I stick with carpet, or wood? If I do wood, do I have to match the wood floors in the hallway that meet the bedrooms? I also have the oak picture frame paneling in my formal living area, should I remove it and texture/paint the walls or paint the paneling maybe with the picture frame being an accent color? If I were to do anything to my cabinets, should I make them all match like they do now? All help & suggestions are greatly appreciated !!!Thanks!
