Where will you be on Friday, August 28th?  I hope it’s with me at this very special charity luncheon for Kidney Texas, Inc.  Two of my dear friends Teffy Jacobs & Molly Nolan are chairing the event this year.  The fabulous Nancy Rogers has been chosen as this year’s Honorary Chairman.  This super fun fund-raising luncheon and fashion show should not be missed!  There will be an amazing silent auction, yummy lunch with a champagne toast, fashion show (which I’m especially excited about since my little 4 1/2 year old princess will be modeling), and to die for prizes in the raffle including an all inclusive trip to the County Music Awards in November!  The fashion show will feature Stanley Korshak and children’s fashions by Kid Biz.

Does your ultimate sports fan need a great place to watch the game?  Do you cringe at the thought of having friends over for the game because your family room looks more like a frat house than a warm inviting space?  Don’t worry!  You CAN have it all!  Just picture it ~  a well-designed room that will have your friends cheering!  It may look something like this…

What does it take to create the perfect place to watch the game in style?  In my opinion, there are three key factors.

1)  A fabulous place for your TV (i.e. a wall unit like shown above, mounted TV with a console underneath, or armoire ( I absolutely LOVE this TV wall unit!  There are plenty of compartments for all of your media equipment and tons of bookshelves to decorate with gorgeous accessories!)

2) Ample comfy seating (think a plush sofa & chairs) Tip ~ Add small stylish bench ottomans for extra seating (see zebra ottomans in above photo).  They can be easily moved around & are so versatile & functional!

3) Add style & color with accessories. (The furnishings in the above photo are very neutral.  We added pops of color with a red throw blanket, red pottery for the coffee table, red pillows for the sofa & other red accessories throughout the TV wall unit.

Use glass or other transparent material tables for your coffee table, end tables, or sofa tables to make a room appear larger & more open.

Well, preseason football is officially underway.  It won’t be long until the temperature drops & Sundays are filled with back to back NFL games.  If you’re from Dallas, like me, you are probably a Dallas Cowboys fan.  I get a lot of requests from parents for ideas for kid’s rooms.  So, if you’re a football fan or a parent to a young football fan, what about a football themed bedroom or game room?  We recently featured a Dallas Cowboys themed boy’s bedroom in a Highland Homes model home.  Take a look & get a little inspiration for your football fan…
